DupeDJ was born from a simple frustration: after 15 years of collecting, buying, and downloading music, my library had become an unmanageable mess of duplicates. Same tracks from different sources, different rips, different bitrates—all taking up space and cluttering my playlists.
Manual cleanup was impossible. File names rarely matched. Metadata was inconsistent. And I definitely didn't want to accidentally delete the wrong version of a track I'd been hunting for years.
So I built DupeDJ—the tool I wished existed.

DupeDJ uses the same audio fingerprinting technology that powers services like Shazam and MusicBrainz. Chromaprint generates unique acoustic fingerprints that identify songs regardless of format, bitrate, or encoding.
But we don't stop there. Our multi-signal matching algorithm combines fingerprints with duration analysis, metadata comparison, and file characteristics to achieve 99.9% accuracy.
